Dunstan Reserve

Introduction

Located at 24 Peacock St, Brunswick West VIC 3055. Pleasant green space away from the noise of the city. Features community gardens and sports ovals.

Soccer Ovals and Outdoor Activities

Two soccer ovals here, one seems to be closed off for public use. Plenty of dog walkers in the morning and sports players in the afternoon. Great place to kick a ball around, enjoy the food forest, meet locals at the community garden or play a game of basketball.

Public Facilities and Amenities

Park has club rooms which are kept close to the public but it does have two public toilets that were nice and clean when I went. There is a half court basketball ring and a smallish playground. Also has a bbq that looks dirty but I believe it still works.

A Nice Little Park

Dunstan Reserve is a nice little park. Council can’t seem to leave it alone so there’s always some part locked off but it has a soccer pitch, change rooms, a community veggie garden and small play ground. Not super well lit at night unless there’s a soccer game so I’d avoid cutting across it late at night. Would have been so great if there was a decent playground with some more play equipment here too but we still really enjoy going there nonetheless.

West Brunswick Community Garden and Food Forest

The West Brunswick Community Garden and Food Forest are hidden away in Dunstan Reserve behind the child care centre on the eastern side (Everett St). What an oasis! Lots of locals growing food together and getting to know each other.”
