A very quite but pleasant park for children … and grandparents.. Fully enclosed playground with wooden structure which has a slide, steps, shop front, tunnel, tic-tac-toe, steering wheel and ladder with square rungs. Also two springers and swings.

Picnic Area

Four tables (some shaded) and unshaded seats. A small park with play space and picnic tables.

 

Douglas Reserve

Introduction

Located at 170 Weston St, Brunswick East VIC 3057. It is a great spot to take kids to play and enjoy the outdoors.

Playground

The playground at Douglas Reserve has something for all ages. It is clean and well-maintained, with gum trees dotted around the block. The highlight of the playground is a colorful rope double cone that spins around with kids inside. There is also a climbing area with a variety of rope obstacles between poles with climbing holds, two swings, log steppers, and two super cute wooden bug springers.

Park Features

Apart from the playground, there is also a beautifully painted electrical box, some wooden gum nut sculptures, and a small grassy area. There is a water tap available for public use, making it easy to refill water bottles and keep hydrated.

Ambience

The playground area is well-shaded, providing a comfortable place for parents to relax while their kids play. There are also several seats around the playground area, providing plenty of seating for families to enjoy the outdoors together.

Balfe Park

Introduction

Located at 64 John St, Brunswick East VIC 3057. This place holds dear memories of past years and friends still being friends.. The big gum trees next to the children playground were dangerous and had to go.. The park is still a great fun place to go.”

Playground and Exercise Equipment

Nice local park for the children to play and have fun. Recently renovated with new playground equipment, including adult exercise equipment too. Good playground and exercise equipment for people of all ages to enjoy.

Variety of Activities

Adjacent to the Brunswick Zebras Soccer pitch, this park has plenty of space and activities for a wide variety of ages. The story circle a favourite of ours. Lovely mix of open space, kids play and dog park. Big oval for playing sports surrounded by a 450m walking track. There are also BBQs and picnic tables available for people to use.

Opportunities for Improvement

Despite being a great park, some visitors feel that there is still room for improvement. The big gum trees next to the children’s playground were deemed dangerous and had to be removed. Some visitors also feel that with the right planning, the park could be transformed into something even better.

Balfe Park is a beloved local park with plenty of space and activities for people of all ages to enjoy. With its recently renovated playground and adult exercise equipment, this park is a great place to go for a fun day out.
