Cork & Chroma: Paint and Sip in Collingwood

The Cork & Chroma Melbourne studio is situated in the inner-city arts precinct of Collingwood/Fitzroy, on the southern end of Smith Street (number 36 to be exact!). Pop-up Paint and Sip

We hold regular pop-up paint and sip sessions at various locations across the greater Melbourne area including at our fave Yarra Valley winery, Elmswood Estate, as well as collaborating with various brands, hosting some of Melbourne’s finest drag performers including the fabulous and formidable Art Simone, and we cater to painters of all ages with our All Ages and Family Paint sessions. The more the merrier, we say!

Paint and Sip Company

Cork & Chroma is a paint and sip company, operating across five studio locations in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Take on the basics of painting with acrylic on canvas, paintbrush in one hand and wine glass in the other. Guests book in to their painting of choice from our online calendar, bring along their favourite beverage, and settle in for a night of painting, sipping and singing to the infamous Cork & Chroma playlist.

Experienced Team of Artists

The sessions are led by an experienced team of artists and run for approximately three hours, at the end of which guests leave with their own unique artwork to take home. Cork & Chroma also hosts private sessions to celebrate events such as hens parties, birthday parties, and corporate functions. These can be held in studio or online, with the option of pre-purchasing arty supplies from the gift shop. They also offer ‘pop up’ sessions at various locations, where they bring the Cork & Chroma experience out into the community.

Keith Haring Mural

Located at 35 Johnston St, Collingwood VIC 3066. The Keith Haring Mural is an impressive example of the late pop art icon Keith Haring’s work. This huge mural, dating back to 1984, has become an iconic part of Melbourne’s street art scene. The piece is true to Haring’s well-known playful and timeless style. Visitors can find a small information plaque opposite the piece. Many lovers of street art come from far and wide to see this mural, and it is easy to see why.

A Piece of Artistic History

This mural has been a favourite among locals and tourists for decades. It is said that this work by Keith Haring was the beginnings of Melbourne’s now globally famous street art scene. It was the first post on the blog Land Of Sunshine back in 2010 and features in the book Street Art Now self-published in 2014. Keith was an absolute master, and Melbourne is very fortunate to have this piece here.
