To express our gratitude for your continued support, we want to help you start the new year on a high note by presenting the 10 Core Principles for Better Health.

These simple health principles have helped many people change their lives. The benefits range from overcoming illness, to improved energy levels, and reduced need for medication.

Give yourself these Gifts of Living Health. For each day, focus on one aspect of Living Health. It’s that easy! Experience the power, energy and joy of your body being alive with peak health.

Remind yourself how to breathe properly with this breathing technique. All you need to do is take 10 Power Breaths, 3 times a day.

This is how to take 1 Power Breath:

  1. INHALE for 7 counts (inhale while counting silently for 1 – 7)
  2. HOLD for 28 counts (hold your breath while counting silently from 1 – 28)
  3. EXHALE for 14 counts (exhale while counting silently from 1 – 14)
That completes 1 power breath.

Drink plenty of water! On average, everyone should drink around 6-8 glasses of water a day. It is also better to drink small amounts throughout the day, rather than chugging all 8 glasses in one go. Aim for 4 ounces of water every 30 minutes.

Make sure that at least 70% of your diet consists of water-rich food. A great way to up your water-rich food intake is to have a salad with every meal.Try to exercise 6 times a week – at least! Make sure to warm up properly before each exercise session.

Aim to exercise for longer periods of time. A great ruler of thumb is to exercise at your proper heart rate for at least 15 minutes.

And remember: no pain, no gain is a myth! Pain is your body letting you know that something is wrong.

Try to get the maximum nourishment out of your foods. Follow these 8 guidelines so you can eat efficiently and effectively:
  1. Start your day with a high quality breakfast: That means green vegetables, green juices, and low-sugar fruits.
  2. Combine foods for maximum nourishment: Aim for simple combinations of food.
  3. Eat comfortable amounts of food: Don’t overeat. Eat slowly, and make sure to chew all your food thoroughly.
  4. Embrace high-quality oils: Add olive oil, primrose oil, and flaxseed oil to your diet.
  5. Enjoy the food that you eat: Try to have a peaceful mind at mealtimes.
  6. Separate your meals from your drinks: Try to separate your meals from your drinks by at least ten minutes.
  7. Eat natural foods: As much as possible, try to eat organic food.
  8. Before bedtime, eat light: Avoid condensed foods before bedtime – especially animal proteins.

Most people suffer from back and neck pain to some degree. Most chronic pain is caused by postural imbalances. So to get rid of pain, you need to focus on its source.

Dedicate this day to bringing your body back into alignment. You can do this by finding an exercise that you can do at home. For example, yoga, Pilates, and stretching are all great options for strengthening tight muscles. And don’t hesitate to seek professional care when you need it.

Another way to bring your body into alignment is to get some rest. Finally, give your body a good massage! For many people, stress is a normal part of life. But when toxic stress takes over your day to day routine, you may find that it starts to affect your health.

Meditation is a great fix for this. In fact, meditating can change your outlook on life. “By 11 minutes, your nerves and glands change and adapt, by 22 minutes, your mind gains a powerful ability to project itself. After 31 minutes, you can feel your self, your core, your purpose and a vast aliveness.”

You can also try to manage your stress by changing where you focus your attention. Focus on creating joy to take the place of your stress. You can’t control everything that happens to you, but you can control how you respond. Ask yourself questions that can help solve your problems.Focus on eating more unprocessed fats. One way to do this is by adding fresh olive oil to your meals. It’s an especially great idea to add it to your vegetables. For example, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper combined make for a delicious salad dressing.

Commit to reducing or even completely eliminating processed fats from your diet. Where possible, replace the processed fats with an unprocessed alternative.Becoming a vegetarian isn’t just good for the environment, it’s also good for your health. So following a diet rich in veggies is a no-brainer. From reducing your risk of heart disease, to lowering your risk of cancer, you will enjoy a myriad of health benefits. You’ll even benefit from higher energy levels throughout the day. So today, avoid eating chicken, duck, pork, beef, lamb, seafood – anything not from plants.

It can be difficult to cut meat out of your diet entirely. Thankfully, you can see huge benefits just from eating less of it. If you do eat meat, try to get a clean meat source. This can mean kosher meat, or range fed. Also make sure you only eat meat once a day – maximum. And ideally, you should only eat meat during the day. This is so that the meat doesn’t put pressure on your body while you sleep. Finally, make sure to combine your foods properly for maximum nutrition.

Challenge yourself to stop eating meat. Then judge the results! For most people, cutting out dairy is one of the best things you can do for your body. Not only is dairy extremely fatty, it also causes our bodies to create tremendous amounts of excess mucus. So if you suffer from any allergies, this can greatly improve your day.

Your challenge for this day is to try to avoid dairy products. Then judge how you feel!Acidic foods put you at risk for chronic pain and disease. This is because they cause pH imbalances in your body. Any time a pH imbalance occurs, your body becomes open to disease. pH imbalances also make it easier for viruses, bacteria, and fungi to invade.

First, you’re going to want to start avoiding acidic foods. These foods trigger an inflammatory response in the body. This, in turn, can damage your cells and tissues. Unfortunately, acidic foods also tend to be addictive. For example: foods that contain sugar, caffeine, alcohol, and vinegar all raise the body’s acidity.

Next, try to eat more alkaline foods. These foods also contain alkaline salts that can combat the negative effects of acidic foods. As a result, they can help detoxify your body. Great examples of alkaline foods include: lemon, avocado, celery, and most fruits and vegetables in general.

Finally, you can try to alkalise your body in other ways. For example, managing your stress is a great way to alkalise your body. You can also try drinking alkalising water.

Try these health principles out and feel the difference in your body.
