Why Is There a Minimum Engagement Fee? 🤔
If you’re looking for the cheapest cleaning company,
Respectfully, please look elsewhere; we are not for you.
I wish you the best of luck, but don’t come back.
Let me explain why.
A client recently called, seeking twice-weekly cleaning services in Melbourne CBD. She was
😤 Frustrated with unreliable cleaning service
😔 Disappointed by poor communication
😠 Annoyed with the bare minimum service.
Out of curiosity, I asked a few more questions and discovered they were only paying 1/5 of our anticipated quote—just 20% of our usual price.
I was shocked. With such limited resources, it’s impossible to cover:
💸 Wages
🚗 Travel expenses
🅿️ Parking
📋 Insurances
Not to mention the effort required for communication, invoicing, and administration, which are essential to running a business.
My question is: Why are they knowingly paying unreasonable rates and continuing this unsustainable practice?
It makes me angry to see such unfair treatment. Sadly, this happens often in my industry.
There’s a term called “Burn and Turn”:
🔥 Burn out the cleaner
➡️ Turn to the next one.
And you ask why we have a minimum engagement fee?
This is why. We want to:
💰 Pay them fairly
👥 Provide a management team that supports their needs
❤️ Support them emotionally, financially, and physically
🌟 Build an culture with purpose, meaning and empowerment
Cleaners deserve respect and dignity as a human being.
The cleaners job is bring light, oxygen, clarity and harmony into each space we enter, leaving behind clear energy for people to create from a fresh perspective. They leave spaces that are cleansed, energised, uplifted and refreshed allowing for new vision and new creation in the world.
This is why we exist.
FYI: Most cleaners commute to and from work without ever seeing daylight.
