My Founding Story

After dedicating myself to turning around a struggling company, I was made redundant just one week before becoming full-time. I felt betrayed, unjust, and frustrated. The corporate environment I’d worked in was filled with mismanagement and politics. Work is supposed to be empowering.

In the process of founding Whistle Clean, I juggled four to five jobs simultaneously. I sold cameras by day, worked in a pizza restaurant at night, and cleaned offices after midnight. Despite the long working hours, I felt a sense of happiness and freedom because I was doing what I loved.

Over time, Whistle Clean demonstrated strength and potential for growth. I personally began servicing new clients, gradually expanding to include other cleaners. This business was built by door-knocking around South Melbourne, Richmond, Collingwood, and Port Melbourne.

Throughout this journey, I drew inspiration from fellow cleaners. Often, when I asked, “Why do you work 16-18 hours a day?”. Their answers were often heartfelt.

“I want to buy a walking stick for my elderly mum with my first pay.”
“I want my kids to have a better education.”
“I want to send money back home so my parents can have a better quality of life.”
These selfless reasons were worthy of respect and admiration, inspiring even.

Whistle Clean’s purpose became creating an uplifting environment for cleaners, empowering them to lead better lives. Through this journey, I learned that people harbor untapped potential, and the human spirit is limitless. My passion for personal development became the driving force behind Whistle Clean, serving as a channel for empowering individuals.

Guided by our CORE VALUES of Love, Trust, Growth, Integrity, and Contribution, and with our company’s PURPOSE of improving the quality of life for people, we are propelled toward our Audacious Goal of impacting 1,000,000 lives through our work. This has been an uplifting and inspiring journey, which I am deeply grateful for.
